Where to Buy K-pop Albums and Merch in Seoul

Last checked: October 5, 2026

Seoul is the best place in the world to shop for K-pop — but "where" depends on what you want: the latest album, official concert merch, a pop-up exclusive or a specific photocard.

Album and K-pop stores

Myeongdong and Hongdae have the densest clusters of K-pop shops, selling albums, lightsticks and goods for many groups. They're easy to combine with other sightseeing.

Tips:

  • Store benefits differ. Some shops give a different pre-order benefit (an extra photocard or poster) for the same album. If you want a specific one, check the store announcements before you buy.
  • Photocards are random. Most albums include a random member card. Trading with other fans is common at events — bring a small binder.
  • Compare versions. Many albums come in several versions with different covers and inclusions.

Official concert merch

Concerts usually have official merch booths at the venue, and sometimes pre-order or online sales.

  • Lines often start many hours before the show. If merch matters to you, go early or check whether there's an online pre-order.
  • Items can sell out on the first day of a multi-day run.
  • Bring a card and a big bag.

Pop-up stores

Pop-up stores for comebacks, anniversaries and collaborations open often — Seongsu is the busiest area for them. Many use reservations or timed entry. Check the events list for your dates.

Official online shops

Many groups sell through official shops such as Weverse Shop or the agency's own store. These are useful if you want something specific without queueing, but check delivery times — they may not arrive before you leave Korea.

Getting it home

  • Albums are heavy. Budget luggage space or weight, or ship a box home.
  • Lightsticks contain batteries — check your airline's rules and keep them in your carry-on if required.
  • Some stores offer tax refunds for tourists on qualifying purchases; ask at the counter and bring your passport.
