How to Attend K-pop Music Shows in Seoul as a Foreigner
Last checked: October 1, 2026
Weekly music shows are the cheapest way to see your group live — most are free. The catch: seats are limited and most are reserved for fan club members.
The weekly schedule
| Day | Show | Channel |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | The Show | SBS LIFE (returned June 2026) |
| Wednesday | Show Champion | MBC M / MBC Plus |
| Thursday | M Countdown | Mnet |
| Friday | Music Bank | KBS2 |
| Saturday | Show! Music Core | MBC |
| Sunday | Inkigayo | SBS |
Broadcast times and venues change; check each show's official page for your week.
Which shows can visitors get into?
M Countdown is generally the most foreigner-friendly. In 2026 Mnet started selling foreigner-only live passes through overseas platforms such as Klook, so you don't need fan club membership.
The Show has also offered visitor slots bookable through Klook in the past. Check availability for your dates.
Music Bank runs a free audience lottery. You need a KBS account registered as a foreigner living abroad, verified with a passport copy, and then you apply for a specific recording date.
Inkigayo, Show! Music Core and Show Champion mostly fill seats through artist fan clubs. Applications are announced on fan cafés or Weverse, usually just days before, and often require a verified membership. They're hard to get as a visitor.
Pre-recording vs live broadcast
- Pre-recording (사전녹화): filmed hours before broadcast, often early morning. Closer to the stage and usually fan club only.
- Live broadcast (생방송): you see all the performers that week, but from further away.
For a popular group, attending both can take 6–8 hours including waiting. The live broadcast alone is typically 3–4 hours.
What to bring
- Your passport (the name must match your registration)
- Your ticket or confirmation
- A charged phone and portable battery — but expect strict no-filming rules inside
Fit it into your trip
Music shows happen every weekday, so almost any trip has at least one. Use the trip planner to see which days are free around your concerts and birthday cafes.
