Taking a K-pop Dance Class in Seoul as a Visitor

Last checked: October 5, 2026

Learning a choreography in Seoul is one of the most popular K-pop experiences — and you don't need any dance experience to enjoy it.

Two kinds of classes

Classes made for visitors

  • Taught in English (sometimes Japanese or Chinese), beginner-friendly.
  • Usually teach one well-known song in 1–2 hours, often with a recorded video at the end.
  • Booked online in advance, often through travel platforms.

Drop-in classes at dance academies

  • Real academy classes alongside local students; instruction is mostly in Korean.
  • Faster pace, more advanced choreography.
  • Better if you already dance and want an authentic class.

Before you book

  • Check the song. Most classes announce the song in advance — pick one you love.
  • Check the level. "Beginner" at an academy can still be fast.
  • Check what's included: video recording, changing rooms, private vs group.
  • Group size: private classes for friends are popular for birthdays and fan trips.

What to wear and bring

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in, and clean indoor sneakers.
  • A water bottle and a small towel.
  • Learn the chorus beforehand if you can — you'll get more out of a short class.

Fit it into your trip

Classes take a few hours including travel, so they work well on a day without a concert. Use the trip planner to find a free day around your events.
