Best Time to Visit Seoul for K-pop — A Season-by-Season Guide

There's K-pop in Seoul every week of the year. The real question is: what do you want to see? Here's how the year usually flows, and how to choose dates.

Start with your bias

The single best way to pick dates is around the things that only happen once:

• A concert or fan meeting — announced a few weeks to a few months ahead.
• A member's birthday — birthday cafes open around it every year, so you can plan far in advance. Find birthdays on each group page.
• A comeback — weeks with music show promotions mean more chances to see the group live.

How the year usually looks

Spring (March–May) — Mild weather and an active comeback and concert season. Pleasant for walking between fan spots.

Summer (June–August) — Hot and humid, with a rainy season. Outdoor music festivals take place in and around Seoul. Plan indoor backups.

Autumn (September–November) — Many fans' favourite: comfortable weather, lots of concerts and outdoor events. Korea's Chuseok holiday (dates change each year) can close some shops and make transport busy.

Winter (December–February) — Cold, but the year-end season brings award shows and broadcasters' year-end music festivals, often with many groups on one stage. Seollal (Lunar New Year) can also affect opening hours.

Exact dates for festivals, award shows and holidays change every year — check official announcements before booking flights.

Practical tips

• Book accommodation early for concert weekends; hotels near venues fill up fast.
• Leave a buffer day in case an event is rescheduled.
• Weekday music shows: staying Tuesday–Sunday gives you the most chances to attend a recording.

Once you have dates, put them in the trip planner to see everything for your bias in one plan.
