Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SideQuest Day ("we") handles when you use this website, and your choices. Contact: rnrgus5897@gmail.com
What we collect
When you just browse or use the trip planner: we don't ask for an account, and the planner doesn't store your plan. Your group, dates and members are kept only in the page address (URL) so you can share it.
When you list a birthday cafe, we collect what you enter in the form:
- the member and cafe details (cafe name, address, dates),
- the link to your announcement,
- your contact handle or email address.
When you sign up for bias alerts, we collect your email address, the group (and member, if chosen) you want alerts about, and your language.
When you leave a birthday message, we store your nickname, message, chosen card and sticker, a password (as an irreversible hash) and your IP address (only as an irreversible hash, to allow one message per member per day).
Aggregate site statistics: we count page views, generated plans, booking-link clicks and card downloads by day, language, page path, product and broad traffic source. These counters do not store IP addresses, visitor IDs, full referrers, email addresses or URL query strings. They do not use analytics cookies. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this measurement.
Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We don't set analytics or advertising cookies ourselves. Some pages show a Klook booking widget; it loads from Klook's servers and Klook may set its own cookies to show prices in your currency and to record bookings referred by SideQuest Day. The widget only loads when you scroll to it. See Klook's privacy policy for details.
Why we use it
- To review birthday cafe listings and contact the host if something needs checking.
- To publish approved listings (cafe name, address, dates and announcement link). Your contact handle or email is never published.
- To keep your preferences on an update waitlist. Automated email alerts have not launched; you can request removal by email.
- To show birthday messages, let authors edit or delete them, and prevent spam and abuse.
- To understand aggregate content and booking-link use, and to run and secure the website.
How long we keep it
- Submissions that are not approved are deleted within 90 days.
- Approved listings stay online as part of the event archive. The host's contact details are deleted within 90 days after the event ends.
- Alert sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; we then delete the email address within 30 days.
- Birthday messages stay up until the author deletes them or asks us to; the IP hash is deleted 30 days after posting.
- You can ask us to delete your submission or contact details at any time.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting.
- Supabase Inc. — database (stored in the Seoul, South Korea region).
- Klook — booking widget on some pages (see above).
We don't sell personal information or share it with advertisers.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to partners such as Klook, KKday and Agoda. When you visit their sites, their own privacy policies apply, and they may use cookies to record that you came from SideQuest Day (see our affiliate disclosure).
